Cecilia Younger began her trumpet career under the direction of Band Director Jenessa Stout in Dupont, Washington. She learned fundamentals and participated in the annual Solo and Ensemble Festival where she received superior ranking. While attending high school in Burke, Virginia, Cecilia has continued to perform in a variety of ensembles. She is a member of the Robinson Secondary School Trumpet Choir under the direction of Larry Oats, Trumpet Section Coach. She is first chair trumpet in the Robinson Jazz Band and Section Leader of the Trumpets in the Robinson Marching Rams. She has worked with the Robinson Secondary School Symphonic Band for three academic years on trumpet (2022-2025).
As a member of the Robinson Secondary School Symphonic Band, she was invited to perform at the Music for All National Festival in 2024 and the Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) Conferences in 2024 and 2025. Her most recent invitational was The Midwest Clinic International Band, Orchestra, and Music Conference as a performer and clinic ensemble in 2025.
Cecilia performs in community ensembles with the Virginia Winds Academy Senior Division and volunteers with the local elementary school music program, Robinson Area Band. In addition to her other trumpet education, for the past three years Cecilia has been receiving private instruction from Ethan Bartley, Musician 1st Class, United States Navy Band.
